Premarital coaching

Research shows that "a couple who spends at least 12 hours in a premarital-education program decreases their chance of divorce within the first five years of marriage by 50 percent." (Diane Sollee, Director of the Coalition for Marriage, Family and Couples Education).

Think about that statistic for a moment. Only 12 hours of your time reduces the risk of divorce by 50 percent. That's one heck of a return on investment, if you ask me. Yet couples typically spend more time planning their wedding than they do planning their marriage! 

I believe one of the most profound statements ever made was, "If you fail to prepare, you must prepare to fail". That statement is true about almost any endeavor in life. It is particularly true with regard to marriage. A marriage must be constructed. It must be built just like a fortress. You wouldn't build a fortress on a foundation intended to support a house. To build a fortress that will withstand the tests of time and winds of change, as well as the occasional enemy assault, it must be built on a rock solid foundation. 

My premarital coaching is designed to prepare the couple for a marriage built on a solid foundation. We will cover a variety of topics such as understanding roles in the marriage, setting boundaries, managing finances and fulfilling God's purpose for your marriage.
